England vs Pakistan 3rd Test Day 2
Day 2 Crawley Scores Huge
Double Ton & Buttler 152
At Ageas Bowl
England v Pakistan 3rd Test 2020
Very good performer start things off
for pakistan just but they're on strike.
Way would start morning. Yeah, good
morning. Good morning, everyone. Yeah fascinating day yesterday. We saw the
emergence of a very good young player in zak crawley.
The reason that the groundsmen were
maneuvering has become apparent there's a black cloud hovering just over the
right hand corner of the robrands grove pavilion and that started to unload sadly.
That's the problem you want rizwan
up to the stumps because Abbas wants zak crawley. Playing from the crease but
of course, the ball is relatively new. It's very tricky for rizwan given that
late movement.
Lovely shot first runs of the second
morning for zak crawley to very firm drive wide of mid-on.
A lot of that from crawley as well
using his height. He just stands tall and hits the ball on the top of the
bounce. He's six foot three or thereabouts.
Punched away this will go to the
boundary and we'll take butler to 99. 99 what a shot from butler.
Splendid moment for joss butler as
he goes through to his second test match 100. He played beautifully yesterday
he's added the 13 required this morning and it's a great moment for him. He's
first as a wicket keeper. Batsman is his second in test match 100 how well he's
played.
Leans into this knows that it's come
off the middle of the back because he's stopped running just taps his back at
the non-striker's end. So it's another boundary to butler eleven fours, there
are a couple of towering sixes in there as well yesterday off yasir shah.
What happened there, no third man
and that will run away for four. Gets bounced doesn't he happen about
everyone's spoken about the movement, but he's missed out on lbw's this summer
because they've been hitting the thai pads again, this one just bounced and but
they're in the air played it reasonably. Well played it late just opened the
face.
It flew through the gap not the gap
in the slip corner but the gap between backward point and the golly.
End of Session 1 (Lunch Session)
Not the most elegant stokes but it
bring 200 for crawley. What a great feeling for zak crawley maiden double
hundred following on from his mating 100. I mean it's an extraordinary
performance. He won't be too happy with the way he got there, but he'll be very
happy with what? He's shown over the course of the last day and a half.
Swept away hard very hard. It's
taking a piece out of the damp outfield, but we'll make it to the boundary. Yeah,
good shot played on length as much as anything else.
He's chipped it there's a man there
he's chipped it so well it's gone all the way for six. What a beautiful piece
of timing for a moment. I'm sure he thought he might be in trouble.
Well, that's a cracking drive his
innings has been littered with brilliant drives off the front back foot it's
about as good as it gets.
Reverse sweep successfully for zak
crawley it's gonna run away for four to end the 120 first over 438-4.
Yeah, thought he was going to take
the aerial route he was a little bit tired of just clinking along the ground of
shan Masood he wasn't gonna put up with that we just stroked him over mid off
before 450 up 450-4.
A bit he's whipped it away
beautifully doesn't really matter if it's four or six because it's gonna take
him to 250. The milestones keep coming for the young man 200 earlier today now
to 250 ain't done yet. Little beauty.
Squirted away go away for four moves
to 257.
Well, he got in this time shafiq zak
crawley got stumped by a part-time bowler. But what are the innings 267. Getting
out very well kept by rizwan was turned it was outside leg side.
Pakistan got 5th wicket of Zak Crawley goes for 267. Asad Shafiq got them breakthrough
A maiden over. Let's see what the umpires say. Yes, they're all just waiting on a few seconds to take over. Make sure that this was the last over for tea. Lots of hard work for the pakistan bowlers as I said shaheen afridi just keeps on running in 117 runs in the session just the one wicket lost by england that of that of zak crawly for a fantastic double century.
End of Session 2 (Tea Session)
Moving on the up go away for four. Man
on the drive man extra cover and woke's got it perfectly between him.
Smacking around continues he is very
good on the drive. I think they've probably given him too many drives to chris
wokes in this series.
He was waiting for that the left leg
was out of the way as he got into the delivery stride 500 up for england. It's
503-5.
Goes towards third man who'd have
gone fine away for four anyway.
150 to jos butler wonderful innings
went through to his hundred very early on this morning. Has played at an even
tempo since then? 13 fours, two sixes.
Oh an absolute dolly straight back,
can you believe it? Jos butler's just smashed that straight back and easiest of
catches for far with the part-timer.
Pakistan got 6th wicket
of Jos Buttler goes for 152. Fawad Alam got them breakthrough
What can yasir do with probably the last ball short one did pretty well from woakes two really well went all the way for four.
Hit it straight to cover you'd
sense, that'll be it now, I think you'll call the troops in now. Likes to be
disappointed get out, but he's looking forward to getting on with it. Not much
movement always love to bet Especially situations like this where you have
literally lessons to kill.
Pakistan got 7th wicket
of Chris Woakes goes for 40. Fawad Alam got them breakthrough
Just over the top spun away on the angle
away from abbas. Who gingerly will retrieve it. Yes. It has got the teapot on.
Now he's away or is it yes he is in
the gap and away for four. He was always going there there was six maximum.
Best tries to go down the ground. Might
be okay because it's a difficult catch it was always going to be a difficult
catch. I think it's nasim shah who was trying to get himself balanced? That he
never quite got comfortable. He never looked poised. He was always on the move.
Swung away again left side and he's
got this that's a good strike from stuart broad two sixes for him. That was
against the spin best of the lot.
Swept away leg side and the field is
gonna have to go and get it again six runs to dom bess. Easy as you like.
Will that be the declaration broad
has been castled by shaheen. Who has his second wicket. Dom bess is not making
his way off the field.
Pakistan got 8th wicket
of Stuart Board goes for 15. Shaheen Shah got them breakthrough
And that is the declaration so
england declared their first innings on 583-8.
Pakistan Start Their First Innings
I think outside the line. No given
out. Yeah, I think that's a good review.
Pakistan went
for a review and they retained that review
Umpire Voice “More traffic coming up
now pitching outside off impact is outside so change your original decision. You're on screen now”
That looks out that looks plumb.
Pakistan went
for a review and they lost that review
Umpire voice “Pitching in line
impacting line and hitting the wickets i'm going to go back to my cornfield,
please Michael you can save the original decision you're on camera now”
England got 1st wicket of Shan Masood goes for 4. James Anderson got first wicket of Pakistan first innings
Oh, I think it has that's a good
grab another one for anderson he's closing in on 600.
England got 2nd wicket of Abid Ali goes for 1. James Anderson got them
breakthrough
Lovely Shot! Different league really
is sometimes the way he times the ball.
That is a huge wicket for anderson a
huge wicket for England. Baba azam is not going to review he knows it knit back
it kept low.
England got 3rd wicket of Baber Azam goes for 11. James Anderson got them breakthrough
What a moment at the end of the second day for anderson and for England huge wicket right at the end of the day. A day that couldn't have gone any better for England mammoth 583 great declared with zak crawley for a big double hundred jos butler playing magnificently as well for 150 itself and then three key wickets at the end both openers and then pakistan's best batsman baber azam and that’s the stumps day 2.
